What do people usually major in after they get their BA in psychology, and dont intend on going to grad school1aaa2012-10-20 22:49:02
The thing is I know I'm very interested in psychology , and I want to make the base of my education . My dream is to have my own restaurant someday. I'm a fabulous cook . But if that does not work I wanted to have a title of a backup plan . Like others who do not want to spend eight years and more trying to get a Ph.D. in Psy . It is common for people to get a degree in Psyc while specialization in something else ? Please share your exp staff if possible. thank you
Psychology Major...I want to go to Medical school but I dont want to be a psychiatrist... Need Opinions Please?0Camille2012-10-21 15:18:01
I'm thinking double major in Psychology and African American Studies , but do not want to be a psychiatrist . I want to work as a doctor in an urban community . In my experience it is very difficult and understaffed , and I decided to dedicate my life to helping the urban community . I also plan to work with minorities through foundations and schools , but my main concern is to get into medical school . I know people see psychology as an " easy " degree , so I'm afraid it will affect my chances . How does a double major in American and African psychology look if there is going to be a psychiatrist ? I should explain my aspirations to interviewers ?

As a philosophy major could I get into grad school for psychology?0BritBoss2012-10-26 06:10:00
I am a junior philosophy major , but I think I want to pursue a PhD in psychology after graduation . I have taken many psychology classes , and have done well in most of them , but I will not have him as my specialty . Do graduate schools look down upon this ? I go to a top 10 liberal arts college , if that means anything .

I have agreed to transfer to schools 'm currently a student at a community college. I visited both schools and I loved the atmosphere at UCSB seemed that people were happier and friendlier. But I also know that UCSB 's reputation is not as big as the UCSD . I am told that the research opportunities for undergraduate students at UCSD are better and improve my chances of being accepted into graduate school . Is this true ?
