Theories that helped the study of psychology understand human behaviour better?0Amy2012-11-03 04:31:04
I've got a few "school of thought", just want to check if I'm on the right track. - Behaviorism - Humanistic - Cognitive - Evolutionary with a small mention of Freud &psychoanalysis, as well as some from the Biological psychology.
Is it worth getting a certificate in the study of human behaviour?2Kush2012-10-07 19:21:04
Hello everyone :) MedlinePlus Well , I have 23 years working full time in an office and has a lot of office experience . I've done work and general office tasks such although currently receiving work experience in sales . My current position is entry level . I feel that my experience will be worth it one day, but I would love to have some post- secondary education behind me . I do not want to go to college full time and I live in the country so you can not afford a trip to school at night , especially in winter on top of a full 8 hour work day , so I'm limited to courses online . I found a course in the study of human behavior , where at the end , I will receive a certificate from Humber College , which is a very good university here in the GTA . MedlinePlus Do you think a certificate in this field worth ? I think I'm going to teach communication skills and I could possibly benefit from a business function in the future. Employers will see it that way? What type of work environment do you think would fit someone with this certification ? MedlinePlus I think it sounds interesting as I have always loved psychology and I plan to take three elective courses in psychology along with the compulsory credits consisting of Introduction to politics , sociology , humanities , etc ... Just wondering if this will be worth it when it comes to finding a job that requires more experience .. input level is good for the experience , but I would love to do something more exciting than just general office work and would really like to make more money one day. MedlinePlus I know it's not a title or degree , but paired with my work experience could be a step in the right direction ?
I am self taught in human psychology and behaviour through many years of observing. Can I just sit an exam?3Farah2012-10-11 15:05:02
Of course there is nothing that an educational institution could enlighten us. Therefore a dilemma rests , To enable one to use their skills in society have to prove themselves by having to sit through many years in an educational institute to gain merit . Of course , I understand that this should be the case for most people not educated for a business of trust through proof that this person has the knowledge necessary or desirable by the bureaucracy . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus In my case, I have full confidence , no doubt , you can certainly teach and enlighten even those who educate their teaching skills . So I 'd like to sit an examination required to obtain the necessary documents and certification of degree status . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Is it a possibility? Or a be required to attend an educational institution for a period of time desired - though of course not necessary in my case - is a very wise and self-aware .

Anyone else suffer from psychotic depression? Has medication helped?0jahmya2012-11-05 04:44:59
I suffer from PD and am on zoloft and abilify. The abilify helps 60% of the time and I just started the zoloft. Right now I have situational depression but my mood is on the lowside when I'm off my AD. I don't like the side effects from the medication(akathisia, feeling numb) but I'd rather experience that than the crappy mood. What else has helped you get through the rough times? What do you do when you experience psychotic symptoms?
