I'm currently freaking out but I need to be slapped more with reality for more motivation...

I'm a Sophomore in college, Psychology/French minor and have a GPA of 3.39.

However, this last semester (Spring, Sophomore) I may have done worse due to relationship issues and this really difficult class I took that I didn't bring myself to drop out of.

I really want to study depression and substance abuse and am currently entering a research lab for the next two years (this would make a total of 6 semester working in labs) for clinical psychology (other two were cognitive psychology/neuroscience) dealing with the topic. I'm planning to write a scholarly paper for it and also planning to volunteer tons during the summer.

I'm studying for the GRE from now.

I'm very nervous about the competition but I want to succeed, I want at least a 3.8 GPA to be more competitive but I feel like I will never make it.

Any tips/suggestions?
