Federal Bureau of Prisons?3ourania2012-10-16 09:05:03
My ultimate dream job is to work in the prison system . I am almost 25 years , and only from BA , which is psychology and criminal justice . So you're applying to a doctoral program in clinical counseling , with some emphasis on penology . I do clinical counseling , but I also want to point different groups . Like alcohol, sex offender counseling , I want the inmates to know I'm there for more advice. I'd like to start new programs and direct . Is there a shortage of this, do you think education I'm doing enough. Working for the FBP is my vocation , and I really really want to try to help these prisoners .

Can I reach a federal law enforcement job with this path?0Jazzy shizzle2012-10-26 08:31:36
Those who interest me are the FBI, Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, DEA, etc. .. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Anyway, I have 16 years old, a sophomore in high school, and I'm 100% sure I want to go to Criminal Justice, is expected at a federal level. I've been reading books in the library of my school in almost anything that deals with law enforcement and criminal justice. I want to help people in this area, and I think I have the skills (and I do not care how much I get paid). MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I researched a bit about the Federal Law Enforcement, and is quite obviously want a bachelor's degree. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Well, I'm trying to figure out what to get a degree or which way to go specifically to achieve success in this field. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Now, this is a path I've gotte, and is the best I can come up with, but I do not want to go any way and do not reach my goals. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus >> Get a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor MedlinePlus (associated) in Law or Accounting / Business or psychology or Spanish or all (if possible). Work >> three or four years after a law enforcement / criminal investigations career (ie patrol officer also known as a police officer) just to gain experience and help my country in front, maybe even get enough to detective, I do not know. MedlinePlus >> Then apply to all or some of the work of federal law enforcement officer during my patrol / detective career. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I feel like I'm really at all, and it takes me first, I have a good hunt, because I'm sure there is a waiting period of hiring these institutions. Besides, I really can not choose, because I know I would enjoy them all. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So, is this a good way? Or maybe get a bachelor's degree in law or accounting, then a major in Criminal Justice. I would get a double major, but I think it would require too much time (and money that I have). MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Besides, I do not want to pursue a master, because well, I really want to get into the field as soon as I can (and down the field, I mean Special Agent). MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I love law enforcement, and I know it's not like they show on TV, and that's not all it's cracked up to be, especially when his career should be "wanting to do" if you do, well, I do. I want to make a difference, I think this race does a great job doing. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus If anyone can help, please let me know.

I am Australian and wonder what is the difference, if any, between college and university in the USA?10RAH RAH2012-10-08 15:31:04
In Australia , the university is the place where a person acquires more practical certification courses like Certificate of hairdressing, hospitality , automotive , electrical , plumbing , gardening , child care , etc. courses covering worker several months to several years. A person may qualify for admission to the university with fewer years of school (grades , eg average and sophomore level ) and fewer signs of what is required for university entrance ( upper grades and graduation high school is essential ) . University is where a degree in psychology degrees , science , education , etc. higher level of nursing and graduate studies as a PhD PhD are achieved. University is the highest academic level in Australia . The university is much less academic .

I have noticed to practice psychology in America one has to have a Phd while in Australia all you have to do is a 4 year degree in psychology and complete 2 years of supervised work experience and you can call yourself a psychologist. Why does Australia have a lower standard for psychologists than America does?
Process for become a registered Psychologist in the US (with Australian degree)?1LaNaya2012-10-07 03:16:03
What is the process to become an American social psychologist ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I am currently studying psychology at a university in Australia . Once I have my degree in four years degree , I will be forced to do a postgraduate degree or complete two years of experience working with another social psychologist , to become full . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus If I had to move to America once I finished my degree 4 years ( or say , even after a supervised postgraduate work ) , what I have to do to be registered in the U.S. ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I have read some articles which state that an examination is necessary and one that indicates a " refresher course " , however I'm not sure that 's true . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So to sum that up , if I have completed a degree in Psychology in Australia ( well , I'm open to graduate ) , what steps should I take to become a social psychologist in America?
Is the Australian institute of applied psychology dodgy?0losted2012-10-07 04:16:16
I just applied through seek learning to do a Bachelor of Applied Social Science ( counseling ) . MedlinePlus Seek learning, said that although it is an online course , is a fully accredited school that offers exactly the same qualification as any other uni in australia . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus However, as I write this in google the name of the course , only the Australian Institute of applied psychology has even this degree .. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So im wondering if this is a reliable scam to get my money , if you seek learning is also unreliable , and any other information that anyone has or comments about this uni MedlinePlus :) MedlinePlus Thanks in advance :)
