Can you critique the 3rd chapter of my novel?0Blythe2012-10-16 10:27:13
Grace got on the plane that took her to Germany with nervousness. He glanced at Cooper, Kennedy, and Austin, who were still waiting to board. All had agreed that it would be safer to be separated on the plane. Grace hated him, but Cooper had assured him that would be fine. I had the horrible feeling that something would happen to one of them, and she would not be able to avoid it. MedlinePlus He found his seat, 15A, and sat by the window. It took eleven hours to fly to Germany, and Grace had no idea what was going to do all the time. She knew Sean Kennedy and Austin have worried, and Cooper always managed to find something to occupy. MedlinePlus Sean Kennedy was with Austin and close friends, the Johnson. She did not know, but she expected to treat as his own son Sean. She knew that Kennedy would never be able to forgive herself if something happened to Sean. MedlinePlus He looked around, searching for any sign of danger or who looked suspicious. Seeing no one, looked out the window, hoping not to have to do this. MedlinePlus Grace was startled from his thoughts as the plane lurched forward, after eleven hours of being cooped up in horrible this small metal machine. She closed her eyes and wished Cooper was at his side to help her overcome the takeoff. He could handle the rest of the flight, but the launch was the worst. MedlinePlus Began to accelerate down the runway, the plane was filled with the sounds of keyboards clicking, crying babies, and the roar of the engine. She gripped the arm rests and pledged not to let go of the whole takeoff. MedlinePlus "Are you okay?" A voice whispered beside him. She opened her eyes, looking at the seat beside him. A young man, perhaps in his 30s, was looking at the face of concern. MedlinePlus "Yes." managed to say, before a wave of nausea rushed over her, and she leaned her head against the seat in front of her. MedlinePlus "Are you sure? Because you look great." "I'm afraid to take off." She whispered, her eyes still tightly shut. MedlinePlus "There is nothing to fear," he whispered reassuringly. MedlinePlus "I would not be so sure of that," she replied. MedlinePlus "What could go wrong?" MedlinePlus "Well, the plane could misjudge the distance of runway needed, and could take off, only to collapse 100 feet after the engines failed. O:" the man stopped her. MedlinePlus "That will not happen! And that was not so bad, is it?" "What do you mean?" Asked Grace. MedlinePlus "Taking Off". MedlinePlus "We havnt even taken off yet." Laughed the man. MedlinePlus "Oh, yes we have. Look out the window." He instructed. Grace and forced his amazment, she saw a blue sky and clouds. MedlinePlus "What I did not realize how you take off?" She stammered. MedlinePlus "I kept talking, his basic psychology. You will not be afraid of something if you're distracted by something else." "Hm ... that really makes sense." "I'm glad you think so, my dad came up with that theory.'m Hunter by the way." MedlinePlus "Grace. So you're a psychologist?" He nodded. MedlinePlus "I have a degree in child psychology and psychological trauma." MedlinePlus "Psychological Trauma" asked Grace. MedlinePlus "I help people work through traumatic events, and then help them overcome the consequences of it." "That sounds interesting." MedlinePlus "That's right. So what to do?" Grace wobbled mind. What should he say? MedlinePlus "I am an editor. A newspaper editor." MedlinePlus "For what role?" MedlinePlus "The San Francisco Sentinel". MedlinePlus "Wow that's a big role!" MedlinePlus "Yes ..." Grace spoke with Hunter until his eyes began to close, and they were trying to conceal the yawns from each other. MedlinePlus "Well, I have to sleep, or I'll be a zombie for the morning of the conference." Hunter said reluctantly. MedlinePlus "Yes, I'm going to make too. Night. O morning. Or any time of the day is here." Hunter laughed. MedlinePlus Grace pulled out his iPod, and pushed his headphones in his ears. She looked out the window, looking at the bright blue sky. She felt adrift. MedlinePlus "Attention passengers.'ll Be landing in Berlin, Germany, in about 10 minutes. Their 76 º and sunny. Local time is 1:32 am Please fasten your seat belts as we begin our descent." Flight attendants Grace cheerful voice scared of your dreams. He sat up and stretched. MedlinePlus "Well, that was fast-tracked," she said, turning to Hunter. He was not there. Where could he have gone? Grace asked. All his bags were gone, and there was no trace of it ever being there. He wondered if the meeting had been only a dream, but decided it was not. MedlinePlus As the plane slowly slid into the terminal, Grace began to gather their things, eager to meet with Cooper, Kennedy, and Austin. When the doors opened, Grace was the first to exit the plane. She waited patiently in the terminal Cooper. When she saw him, she imagined dead puppies to keep the broad smile broke out. MedlinePlus She started walking briskly, knowing Cooper would. The hit, and hit with Grace. MedlinePlus "Sorry," he said, showing no sign of recognition. She nodde

Will someone please critique my Appeal of Financial Aid Letter?0Mdrou2012-10-24 19:45:46
I'd like some criticism on how to improve this letter so that I can be reinstated to my FAFSA. Any help you can give would be appreciated. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Estimated Financial Aid Committee, MedlinePlus My name is _____________ and I am writing this letter with the hope that it will reconsider its decision and continue to give me my financial aid. At this point I would like to take a moment and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter from my call to reset my FAFSA in ___________________________. I realize that I could teach my classes in ____ the necessary attention in order to stay afloat academically. I hope to clear some things up. I'll start by explaining that, although technically the last spring semester is my first semester in college, attended ____ in the fall semester of 2011. MedlinePlus During my brief life fall semester, I was enrolled as a pre-med student. My goal in life has always been become a neurosurgeon. When I started college, I was eager to attend my classes and further increase my already 3.4 GPA. However, proved too classes. By the time he began attending college, I was in the process of moving into my own house. This made for a lot of stress and a lot of changes in my life, and not having someone to motivate me to do what I have to - something I've always had throughout my 18 years of life. I stopped going to all my classes, and I made the mistake of not letting it fall before it was too late in the semester. F I took most of my classes and this made my GPA plummet. MedlinePlus My decision to return the following spring was much less of a disappointment. I decided to be a full-time student again and change my major to undecided, and also opted for fewer classes and fewer hours. These classes include: English 101, 101 Psychology, Math 99, and computers and society. English was, as it always has been, a total success. Math 99 was a struggle, but I was able to be with her, however. My computer class was a breeze, although I realize that after the first half of the semester, my attendance dropped significantly. Psychology was proving a problem and I decided to direct my instructor _________________ my concern. She said that while I did nothing worse that could pass the class with a C. That's when I decided to withdraw from the class, so I did not get a low score and try for a B or better my next semester in college. After leaving my psychology class, my hours dropped below what was needed to continue to receive my benefits. MedlinePlus The spring semester of school has helped me realize that I would like to win a title in my old charm of Graphic Design. Although you want to continue in the BSC to try recomplete some of the classes I did wrong, I would like in the future near Concordia University to attend the Graphic Design program and Arts offering. MedlinePlus Due to the unsuccessful results of my first semester, I have since tried to better myself. Not only academically but as a person who is trying to be all I can be. Unfortunately, I do not receive financial assistance much of my parent or guardian, and if I can not get my FAFSA or grants, she reluctantly have to stop going to college and studying other less desirable options. I have accepted my mistakes and am in the process of working out to the best of my ability. Again I would like to thank you for reading this letter of appeal. Please note and give me another chance to prove my dedication. MedlinePlus Thanks for your time, MedlinePlus _____________________
Please edit/critique my college application essay?0MeMe2012-11-04 09:02:11
its not complete yet; i dont know how exactly i should end it. the topic is: describe a meaningful event, experience or accomplishment in your life and how it will affect your college experience or your contribution to the UF campus community. You may want to reflect on your ideas about student responsibility, academic integrity, campus citizenship or a call to service. Originally as baffled and flabbergasted as any student entering high school, I had not a clue about my life’s direction; desiring to change the world was too broad a concept to single out a pursuit with such little direction thus far. Aspiring to complete my community service hours and looking for insight into my future plans, that summer I immediately launched a volunteer job in which I would hold the responsibility of coordinating the summer camp activities of elementary-aged children. Since my freshman year, I have volunteered as a camp counselor for younger children with the immediate realization that I delighted in our interactions and wished to pursue a career relating to pre-adolescents. To the roughly three hundred students I’ve worked with to date, I have been a role model, a friend, and a source of encouragement. With such power thrust within me to affect the lives of these young people, I have derived from those various summer jobs an implanted sense of responsibility, as well as impeccable time-management skills and the drive to coordinate and complete my assigned tasks. Upon entering high school, I opted to take an intro to psychology class. With my thirst for knowledge and much intrinsic motivation, I longed to uncover the mysteries of human behavior. The first days of class led to an epiphany, in which I had chosen child psychology for my life’s pursuit. Besides the delectation of inspiring and assisting troubled children, a career such as this would help to spark a brighter future for America’s next generation. What better way to acquire such knowledge needed to change the world than to attend the most prestigious university in the state of Florida? As a Florida Gator, I feel as though I would be a positive, motherly source of inspiration to my campus community in times of hardship, as well as a self-sufficient, prospering and worldly student, growing everyday in a stimulating learning environment.

Do you know what book this is? Help, please :)?0dormouse2012-10-22 22:11:11
Years ago I read this young adult science fiction novel and have never forgotten the story elements ... but of course , I can not remember the title of the book . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus It was a group of children who wake up in ( or made ) a room without windows or doors . They discover that if they react in certain ways to environmental stimuli (such as light or sound) that will be rewarded with a food substance like gelatin that is dispensed through a tube in space. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus They fight and try to work together and fight some more ... the book is about the psychology and behavior ... eventually the children are released and the narrator, who has resisted more conditional training , said that as soon as the other children see a traffic light change to start acting like they did in the room in response to strange lights get food ... MedlinePlus MedlinePlus It's driving me crazy ... thanks in advance !

- It is important to be picky, but it is also important to hide what they are demanding MedlinePlus - Nobody wants to be around someone who can see all his faults and weaknesses, and no one wants to be around someone who hates or is able to search the MedlinePlus - We all have secrets we do not want others to know about what is the best way to deal with people is to prevent courts sitting MedlinePlus - My cousin used to attract people like a magnet acting like he was blind to his faults. Its extremely rich, hardworking and good looking husband pursued for over a year that could have had any girl he wanted because she was attracted to his ambivalence and his (apparently) without prejudice nature MedlinePlus - Also remember that the point of view of other people is different from their own MedlinePlus - My friend Jessica (real name changed) has taken a lot of men to show how to discriminate and judge is MedlinePlus MedlinePlus - Have clear values systems, pure and distinct is another thing that makes people like you MedlinePlus - A man has to lie about the fact that his girlfriend left him because he is embarrassed others will see as weak or inferior is a proud man who values honesty over MedlinePlus - An attractive woman boasts that the number of guys she is dating when that number is around 6 or 7 is a woman who values sexuality more than fidelity MedlinePlus - The speech, attitude and behavior of a person is like a code that can be broken by observing and psychoanalyze them and believe it or not, most men are very good to psychoanalyze people MedlinePlus - In marriage minded men essentially value these qualities above all others: MedlinePlus -> Esteem MedlinePlus -> The clarity and peace of mind MedlinePlus -> Optimism, confidence, strength, inspiration and hope MedlinePlus -> Respect for other people, things and beliefs - Gratitude>, loyalty and devotion to ALL people that have received this kind of treatment MedlinePlus - Pacifism>, non-violence and kindness MedlinePlus -> Fidelity MedlinePlus -> Honesty, sincerity, integrity, dignity and work ethic MedlinePlus -> Transparency, clarity and expressiveness MedlinePlus - Generosity>, kindness, acceptance of people with less status or merit of them MedlinePlus -> The refusal to tolerate abuse or crime MedlinePlus -> A harmonious and sincere expression of one's sexuality, nature or function in society MedlinePlus MedlinePlus -> Also remember that relationships are more valuable when they come in degrees. Making people work and earn their friendship, their confidence, their time and attention, and they value it more and feel more important. Do not give this indiscriminately or without conditions, because that would undermine its social value MedlinePlus MedlinePlus - Have philosophies pleasant in their dealings and interactions with others, and not those disharmony MedlinePlus MedlinePlus - Also note that very few people seem too deep when you are judging another person MedlinePlus - Basically, always accept things on a superficial level MedlinePlus - Only someone who is trained in psychiatry or psychology (a master's or doctoral level) will deliberation and desire to delve too deeply into his consciousness so do not worry about being too complex or too impress, just avoid questionable statements or gestures that someone might interpret the wrong way

The book will be from the perspective of MedlinePlus Styles Harrison , a guy extremely worried about seventeen years old , has fantasies of being a super villain and kill people , as many as possible . It's probably one of the smartest people I've lived with a 6.0 ( He takes all AP classes ) GPA still plan to go to college , he just listens then it is your job , when we see the people hear a voice saying: " Kill . " and sometimes bleeding people imagine , is depressed and see no point in him or any human life , he does not care if he lives or dies . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Or MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Katie Parks , a girl of seventeen , she has a happy outlook on life , she is also very intelligent , with an average of 4.3 that is keeping stop being a cheerleader and taking ballet classes . Her father is the chief of police , she befriends Styles, as they are assigned to be partners in a study of the psychology class to learn from each other . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I have a lot planned for both characters and I probably will not fit everything into one book , and I have lost the most profound aspect of each character , the first book is based on his senior year in high school at the end of the book will graduate and go into the second book , which is based in Style adulthood and see if it fits and acts on their fantasies of murder and terrorism . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So any title that would be useful MedlinePlus ? Any suggestions for the plot? Thanks MedlinePlus Oh ! And who is the book POV should be , I'm thinking of Katie
What can you tell me about becoming a magazine or book editor?0Stephanie Walker2012-10-21 22:25:04
I graduated from BA last month. I'm about to start law school in the fall . However, to realize how much debt I'll be in , so I began to consider other options . If I could have any job , one was to be a magazine editor / or subeditor . One of my greatest degree was in literature . I have no publications , along with a Psychology Honors thesis and no practical experience as it was directed to law school . Am I hopeless? How much is this profession ? Where do I start ? because I have no idea. Thanks for your help in advance .
Wanting to become a Book Author..Help Please?0Lori Goclowski2012-11-04 05:39:59
I enjoy writing,I have been writing since I was in grade 10 *age 14* (now a high-school graduate and 17) I want to become a author..My idols are J.K Rowling and Sharon Osbourne I still have a lot of kinks to work out in my writing.I don't think i'm the best writer,I don't think i'm better then J.K Rowling but I do think i'm a alright writer..i can improve,I know I need to improve on my writing,I'm more then happy for people to suggest on ways for me to improve How would I get my stories published? Would I have to get a publishing agent? Would it be easier to go self published? Is there any good publishing agent's out there? (here's a bit of one of my story) It all started on a cold winter’s night, it was raining heavily forcing her to pull her jacket tighter around her body. She let a sigh slip from her nearly purple lips. The rain was patting onto her body. Clarissa was a female that found it hard in the work force and found it hard to pay for her studying. She took up a new job which was quite dangerous; she had been working as a stripper at Hollywood Showgirls on the Gold Coast. ---- Clarissa was slowly working towards her dream to be part of the police force. She had always wanted to work as a Police Officer. She had dreams when she was little and hoped that nothing would get in her way. She had been working as a police volunteer since she was eighteen and found it quite interesting but now she wanted to work full time with them but she had to first finish her study and pass the police course. Clarissa was a very unique and quiet student. She once went to university to study psychology but had found it hard, so she was now learning how to join the police force. It was her dream job to follow in her family footsteps; Her dad was a senior Sergeant and had been four years; His dad was superintendent; His dad was commissioner. Clarissa didn’t mind working as a stripper, it helped pay her bills and helped pay for her studies. Her father wasn’t pleased about it, but he knew she needed the money. He did beg her to allow him to pay for everything but Clarissa wasn’t a “daddy’s girl”, she didn’t want him to pay for everything. She had to learn how to do things on her own. ----
