Who can help me develop a good critical review question for my psychology assignment?1alejandro macias2016-07-13 23:32:40
I have a critical review essay due within the next 3 or 4 months but first I need to develop an essay question and find an appropriate topic area in psychology to critically evaluate! I choose the area of cognitive psychology and i am quite interested in the 'psychology of religion'. but i just have no idea where to run with the idea! I was thinking along the lines of looking at what factors influence our religious orientation, whether it is mainly due to biological and personality factors, or whether it is mainly due to sociocultural factors? Does anyone have any feedback as to whether this sounds like an ok idea, or can you give me any further tips or advice on what would enhance this idea, or suggest a completely different idea all together?? Any help or advice would be SO appreciated!! Thanks From a stressed out psychology student![View Answers]

Cognitive Science vs Psychology major?0swamp donkey 2012-11-05 23:53:43
Hi, I am really stuck on this decision. I really would like a response by someone who knows a lot about said fields to give a response of the differences between Cognitive science and Psychology. Basically, I am really into how we perceive things, emotionally and physically. I am into mental states, and how our mental states and reality change given certain scenarios. I love philosophy (I am also going to major in it) and I just love how we think. I am more into the emotional aspect than the physiological aspect which is why I am not going to do neuroscience. But I am stuck between cognitive and psychology. Any suggestions???[View Answers]

How did findings of unequal access of different parts of the “icon” and of “dynamic icons” modify this view? 2c. Why is the difference between perception of events that are about 20 milliseconds apart versus those that are 40 milliseconds apart important for understanding visual sensory memory? 3a. Psychology: When does your intelligence stop to grow and IQ?0sharon ashford2012-11-05 07:50:29
The reasoning why I ask is due to intelligence and IQ which does in fact appeal to me strongly. For about some months, I took an IQ test from Mensa and my IQ were estimated at 97, although I don't think that's my IQ since the Mensa IQ test only measures your logical abilities and not your memory, which plays a huge role in intelligence. I'm 15 when does my intelligence stop to grow and has it stopped growing? I know that your cognitive function in your brain doesn't stop growing, for example memory.[View Answers]

What do philosophers feel their role is?0sangs2012-11-05 06:36:36
As cognitive neuroscience and psychology answer more and more of the questions as to how our minds work, and it becomes increasingly clear that there is no "Why?" where do philosophers see their role? This is NOT intended to be a provocative question - I'm not suggesting that philosophers have no role - I'm wondering what they themselves see their most important role/roles as being?[View Answers]
Psychology - Cognitive Dissonance?0Sabina2012-11-05 06:16:48
According to the theory of cognitive dissonance, people who accept a very small payment to tell a lie to another person are likely to a. Come to believe their own lie b. Become angry at the experimenter c. Solidify their original opinion that the statement is indeed a lie d. Become very relaxed about telling other lies in the future I know that cognitive dissonance is a state of unpleasant tension that people experience when they hold contradictor attitudes or when their behavior is inconsistent with their attitudes, especially if they are distressed about the inconsistency. If u told a lie for only $1, u felt a conflict between your true attitude and what you had said about the experiment. The small payment provided little reason for lying, so you experienced cognitive dissonance. U didnt want to feel bad about telling a lie, so u reduced ur tension by changing your attitude, deciding the experiment really had been interesting after all. I think the answer is A or C.
