What is a good college in California for me?0NEED HELP URGENT!!!2012-11-05 17:12:02
I'm a senior in high school this year so obviously I'm really cracking down on figuring out where I want to go next year. I've chosen my top schools I want to go to, but I want to pick one more. I live in new jersey, so obviously I'm not very familiar with the CA area. I'm looking for a school with a good psychology program (I want to be a therapist that does not prescribe medication). My GPA is around 3.0 (I'm not sure exactly what it is) and my SAT score is a 1700 (reading: 530, writing:560, and math: 610) but I'm retaking them in October and will hopefully score higher. Preferably around the area of fresno or more southern. I don't care if it's near the coast or not. Please help me find a college that fits this description and I won't have much trouble getting into.[View Answers]

Which program is more difficult to complete: Physical Therapy or Engineering?0Oyshey Shopon2012-11-03 11:57:01
I just finished my second year at my school and I 'm at a crossroads as to what I want to do with my two years in college . I was majoring in psychology , but decided to make my lower school of Physical Therapy ( all my core classes are completed too) and perform any engineering or possibly Health and Human Performance and enter. I honestly love to create , build and design things , but I have a great interest in the medical field (I am very strong in math and science ) . Also I'm not doing this for the money that comes with the job , but I have an interesting race . MedlinePlus So I'm narrowing it down to the main 'll get more out of the long and the job satisfaction and vision also more in these races . Another thing I was worried about my choice affect my GPA . After my first semester , I have been struggling to come back and is now a reasonable average (2.5 ) . I took precalculus and made a B so I think I'm ready for Calculus and possibly Physics . And HHP does not require much math or science , however , will have to take physics in both directions . So now I'm looking for a program that challenges me beyond what I've done , and I'd like to hear from anyone with experience in any of these fields .[View Answers]

How to major in Neuroscience?0trevain2012-11-02 03:30:03
So I am a Lebanese man and I decided this is what I do. Unfortunately , we do not have a degree in this or any opportunity to work in the field . So I thought maybe I should go and do it in New York since my aunt lives there ( moral support ) . The problem is they do not even know what the difference between a college and a university and what should I be looking for. Anyway , I did some research and found some neuroscience programs at many universities in New York . I'm looking for the smallest enrollment rates possible with the best possible quality of a degree . I do not know if there is any free or very cheap colleges / universities because, you know , living expenses in the U.S. and especially in New York is much higher than in Lebanon , where $ 1,000 could be enough monthly salary for a middle class person . And my father will pay for all that. And I do not know if I could find a part time job while studying because I want to finish my career as soon as possible . But anyway . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Oh and the other problem is that I do not know if you just go from high school to Neuroscience because that 's what I am . A freshman or whatever . Are there any steps I should get before going to the great masters of neuroscience ? As biology or psychology ? I've done my research , but I can not really find any of this information anywhere . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I really appreciate to help me . Thank you and have a nice day.[View Answers]
Are universities picky about what field you earned your BA in when applying to Physician's Assistant program?0MileyCyrus2012-11-01 21:11:25
I read where someone suggested majoring in a subject of your interest that you will do well in which helps when the comittee looks at your GPA (as long as you have the pre-reqs). But do you think colleges choose science/health related BA holders first over others? I would like to get a BA in Psychology, but if that will hurt instead of helping later, I'd rather go a different route. Thanks![View Answers]
Which SUNY schools aren't too selective or competitive?0Juliane2012-11-01 19:06:11
I'm transfering from the college I'm currently in because it's way too expensive and there's not much to do here. My current gpa is a 2.2 but it think it fell some since midterms. I'm proabaly going to have to give them my HS transcript since I'm applying now instead of in my junior year and that will probably help some including my letters, essay, and resume. So yeah which of the SUNY schools are easier to get into and it would be great if you knew if they had both a psychology program and sociology program.[View Answers]

I'll probably start with only better because I still have a life, but since I 'm still only sixteen now can not start the nursing program at once , so I want to make a program for a doctor to get a job . Do you know anything to help me get the feel of being in a hospital since I plan to be a nurse . Do you have any idea of something that requires little time studying ? Maybe six months - 1yr 1/2 ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I was thinking : MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Medical Assistant ( But I do not particularly want to work in a hospital) MedlinePlus Phlebotomist ( I can deal with blood and I like to be in the hands ) MedlinePlus Nursing Assistant (I'm not sure how long the training is for this? ) MedlinePlus Pharmacy Technician (Working with recipes ? ) MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I'm still doing research , so that might add to the list or perhaps more details on what I have already sacrificed . You think I'm going to have to be 18 to study these programs ? So far , phlebotomy is the only thing I'm sure about , age requirement is 17 . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus thanks[View Answers]
What laptop should I buy?0Need HELP!!!!!!!2012-10-27 10:56:30
I'm going to college soon and would like to buy a laptop for your offer , but my Acer gave me. I need a good laptop for college . ( I'm going to the Mac is more oriented ) . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus First, I want to mention that my Acer has had a problem for a long time - it keeps overheating and crashing, even with the fan. Therefore, I want something that has good fans and not crash . ( So, not Acer ) Furthermore , there should be nothing too heavy , because I'll be carrying around a lot . Also, I want to have a decent battery life . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I'll probably psychology , so do not need programming or stuff. I really do not play games and watch movies on the laptop also . Although the movie thing could change once my new laptop will not crash every 5 seconds. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I like to store a lot of photos, music , etc. I do a lot of web surfing , multimedia editing something , blah blah blah , things in general. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus That brings me to price. My family is not like super rich - middle class just normal. I guess I should not be more expensive than like ... $ 1,500 ? ? I'm sure there's something much cheaper , though , but that's the budget possible. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Finally , he was considering brands - Apple , Dell , Sony Vaio , Toshiba , Fujitsu , but others are all welcome . These are unique brands , model suggestions are preferred ! I'm not a big fan of HP ( nothing against it, just do not really like the brand ) . Also , I've never tried using a Mac , so I do not know if I'll like - but I'm willing to give it a try .[View Answers]
Associate's Degree in Nursing or Master's in Childhood Education?0Madison2012-10-27 09:13:57
I never thought I actually had a question here until I hit Level 4 yahoo answers today. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I've been pretty stressed lately because I'm starting college in the fall. It's just a junior college, but I have two scholarships ($ 1,000 and $ 10,000), plus financial aid. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Now the problem is I do not know what program I would still enter. the first 2 semesters are pre-remedial classes, but after that I'm screwed and the clock is ticking. I do not want to be losing all the money I earned for free just because I keep changing my major. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Tho My mom, she's like "do what you want", but then she ends b! Tching about how it is not a good salary n shi +, which is hella fu (king irking. My mother is Filipino and idk if you know but the greatest force to become a nurse: MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Pros: The money (of course) MedlinePlus Pediatric Nursing (my interest) MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Cons: The dirty work is queezy seeing blood MedlinePlus depressing to see dying / sick patients MedlinePlus MedlinePlus As you can tell, I love children. patience'm not so sure. I would teach my complaints, but Mom (and actually for me, as I realized) that teachers get really low paid / unappreciated today. so I think it is one of those "you really have to love what you do despiting pay". but being a director also sounds interesting (principal), but there are a lot of business classes i do not like to take, but it is for a teacher that I really do not think he cared. I guess I have to get the feel of the first university (after the transition) to really understand. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Here is a list of occupations there is a free trial run came to me and my personality: MedlinePlus MedlinePlus nurse MedlinePlus social worker medical / dental assistant MedlinePlus MedlinePlus primary school teacher counselor (psychology) MedlinePlus special education teacher MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Honestly, I have no desire to go to school. Is it even worth it? doing what you love to do and getting paid and spend money on classes that did not really achieve anything in life. I mean who really wants to work for money. there is no greater shame in laziness or I will have a master's in it haha. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Please give me your opinion 100%, I'll read everything you send and every single answer, especially those in the medical field or actually have these degrees. List the pros and cons. Thanks for your help.[View Answers]

What constitutes an "advanced class?" Gah, horrible guidance counselor + Jewish heritage = anxiety.?0pie2012-10-27 02:41:25
So I'm a young high school and is just now starting to think about college . I am currently in an AP class ( APUSH ) , but I'm also in three RCTs , French IV , Spanish IV and Psychology ( is a program in western New York , which allows students to take classes in high school to university level / credit ) , and I 'm just curious as to whether universities will realize / appreciate this in the same way as access points in the transcripts ? My school offers very few access points , making it difficult to be "competitive " . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Also, is there any truth to the old myth that universities are mainly interested in their junior year ? I had a 3.4 in the last two years because I'm lazy , but I'm actually starting to work and I am maintaining a 3.9 weighted , with a 199 on the PSAT , but I do not know if that's a real indicator of the SAT I can expect? . I want to go to any of Binghamton , University of Vermont , and University of Rochester ( in principle, the list will change) , but I just do not know . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Thank you very much in advance! Appreciate it ![View Answers]

Can you attain a Master's Degree in a field different from your Bachelors?0Akeelah2012-10-26 16:57:56
I'm a college freshman working for my degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention Specialist . I love children (hence the title ) , but I'm not sure yet how I want to devote myself after you are done with school. I know I 'm going to go ahead with a master , but it's just knowing what to fill it in. MedlinePlus People say that yes, you can achieve a masters in a different field , but how different ? I do not want to earn my Masters of Education strictly if not decide to become a teacher or intervention specialist . I gained a Masters in Psychology or in that realm will be difficult or impossible ? While I'm brainstorming now , the things I look at are child speech pathologist and a career that involves Child Development . MedlinePlus I want my focus on children, preferably babies and young children, and careers as therapists (speech, audiology , art therapy ) interest me . I searched Google for a while and adoption services seemed to awaken the interest . Not sure what a career it would be . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Note, I do not want to be a pediatrician , nurse or neonatologist . (Strictly related health is not what I want. ) MedlinePlus So , as you can see , I'm open to suggestions ! If someone could help me in the master's programs also would be greatly appreciated ![View Answers]
Which universities should I apply to?0Kaveri2012-10-26 10:15:25
Well , I'm one of the next in high school and I'm thinking of a double major in Psychology and Criminology . Before I assert my research , I was sure that UC Davis was the school for me . What puzzles me is that no UCD Criminology as a senior. The one that offers the UC Criminology as a major is the University of California at Irvine . I hear your Criminology program is great, but I'm not interested in going there. This is because I really hate school and I feel like that 's not going to get all the " college experience " , since I've been there many times . I feel that if I get into both UCD and UCI and ICU choose , would be holding myself what I really want, which is UCD . I'm also being cautious about UC choose because what if I choose UCI Criminology , and years later I change my mind ? So what do you guys think I should do?[View Answers]
My educational plan for college???0Valentina2012-10-26 09:04:57
Well, 20 years im starting community college in January. I must say that I will do everything in my power to get the highest GPA possible 4.0 hopefully. In CC im going to try to get into the Phi Tetta Kappa. Then I think of the transfer to the University of Pittsburgh. My reasons are simple to save money. Although I did quit high school my senior year. I'm going to double major in computer science / economics or finance / economics. Im not sure, but one thing is that everyone I've talked to my profession, specifically trade trade owner, agree that a degree of information and being able to program is a + + + on your resume. Im currently relearning Russian, because im just suffered wear Russian language, and in college I will learn French. I plan on joining the club PITT trading, parkour club, club finances, banking and investmant club. I also plan to obtain an international certificate of business that requires an international study abroad in the chosen language or practices (France and Russia) ... Im also works part time at the moment and I have plans to do so through my education, unless it gets in the way of a great GPA. My goal is to get recommendations from teachers and a high GMAT score and work experience when you go after a ivy league MBA or MSF program. To pay for school the first two years should not be a problem, since their total university community 8K a year. then I will borrow for college. I know that trade is what I do best and it is my passion so success is a byproduct of all the hard work you put into it and I expect nothing less in the back of my head, but at the same time im not afraid Ari Kiev preaches to fail in his books simply psychology of traders and I have to say I've learned a lot. But when i finished school plans to move to Chicago and gettng a trading position propeller and is doing very well a good deal at a time .. who knows possibly hedge funds or prop up shop where being a millionaire is not anything special. Does my plan sound good? I think it feels good on the bottom and is what I do, so regardless of my plan, but I just wanted a bit of a criticism and suggestions? Thanks MedlinePlus MedlinePlus by the way my part-time work is 50% for securities market operations and 50% for school .. I have to bring my own because prop companies love people who have negotiated before and absolutey love people who have a passion, but a lot ofpeople say they do when they do not really matter, and a series of simple questions like What is your favorite book or commercial blogs do you read? What indicators are used? What is best MACD or simple MA or EMA? What were your best efforts? How did you feel? when ou lose money, how to react? of all the books I've read since high school on the subject of books agree im the definition of large trader.[View Answers]
