AP Tests with these classes next year?0Keyanna2012-11-05 12:26:10
First, my school offers both AP and IB classes MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Next year , I will take the following AP classes and their respective tests at the end: MedlinePlus AP English Language and Composition MedlinePlus AP Psychology MedlinePlus U.S. MedlinePlus AP Government and Politics AP Calculus BC MedlinePlus MedlinePlus And the following classes and their respective tests IB : IB Biology HL Year 2 ( This is a course of two years , I am currently in year 1 ) MedlinePlus IB Spanish HL MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I like to earn college credits as possible to save money on tuition and so I have to take these classes again in college . I also understand that because IB is newer to the programs of the United States high school , universities do not give much credit for IB exams . Moreover , there is no rule that says you have to take the respective AP course to take the AP exam . With this in mind : MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I wonder if it would be feasible to take both AP Biology and AP Spanish Language exam next year without taking the AP class . My IB Biology and Spanish classes basically the same material. Has anyone done this before? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Also , I wonder if there is some easy AP tests that could take after learning the material independently and not in a classroom . Has anyone done this before? AP Statistics was thinking because we do a lot of statistical analysis in my biology class IB . Any others? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I can handle the workload, so do not bother to mention that. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus All serious answers are welcome . I would be happier if you gave me a real personal experience about you take an AP exam without enrolling in the course of AP .[View Answers]
Can I get a bachelor's degree in business and then pursue a master's degree in I/O psychology?0hally2012-11-04 19:33:03
I'm a senior in high school about to graduate and I am very interested in studying psychology in college . I would get my degree in psychology , but I know that there are many job opportunities out there for this degree . Instead , I was thinking of specializing in business and minoring in psychology and then get a masters and doctorate in psychology from industrial organizations . Is this possible in most universities ? Will it be difficult for me to be accepted into the master's program if I have only one major in psychology ? Any help or advice is appreciated . Thank you ![View Answers]

I don't know what I want to do with my life?2jagadheeswar2012-10-26 20:19:03
I have 16 years and I just started my second semester of the third year . I go to an art school and studying creative writing and film along with my studies . These are two areas that interest me ( I've thought about writing novels , making documentaries , working as an editor , etc.). 'm Also a little interested in psychology and become a psychologist has crossed my mind . With all these interests , ranging unfocused , I have really wanted to hone in on something . MedlinePlus Applying to colleges is really not that far and I'm not entirely sure about where I go or what I want more in. I feel as if something important as creative writing , will essentially be a waste of time and I will have a title useless . I want to study something more practical and still be able to participate in communication arts , but how would I go about this? How I can decide what to do ? I want to choose a good university with strong programs in my career of choice , but I do not know how important or what I want to do after college . MedlinePlus What are some titles that I can look at where you can still use the script ? She specializes in creative writing or film a waste of time ? How can anyone decide what career is important to them?[View Answers]

Decision, Decisions... (Questions about college and majors)?0natilie2012-10-24 22:56:12
Hi all. c: MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I'm a freshman in college. I'm starting my second semester this week. I've been thinking long and hard about what I want my major to be. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Look, I've loved art all my life. I always wanted to have a career in it, but now I'm not so sure. The only thing I could imagine myself doing arts education would. The only other options is my school has tennis photography, painting, ceramics, etc. I've always liked the animation, but the only schools in my state they have to are The Art Institutes. Personally, I never want to go to one of those schools anyway. I love illustration also as general illustration, book illustration, and such, but my school does not offer these either. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I've been much introspection on my winter vacation. I decided to get a certification in Elementary Education. I love children and working with them as well as when I was younger it was one of my dreams. (To be a kindergarten teacher) Some of this I felt "fine" and I've been told by some people that I could take a PRAXIS (something) test and also get art education certificate also. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So I decided to start Primary and maybe get a certification in Art Education as well. (You can do vice-versa) MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Yet. Education is not an "important" at my university. It is, but it is not. It is regarded as a program. Basically, they tell you also have an important and Education track. As a double major I guess. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I was going to have art as my specialty, but I'm not really sure anymore. I've been on the track for Arts Education, which would not make much sense since I'm also doing Primary Education. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I'm not ready to declare my major yet, because I'm really not sure. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus And lately, the theater has been pulling my heart-strings. I adored my Introduction to Theatre class I took last semester. I've always been a little actress when she was younger. Disney used to play movies, and knew all the dialogue by heart. I would like to express my own stories and improvise the whole thing. (Never had dialogue right in front of me lol) And I do not know why, but ... my heart is sore when I think about it. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Although, I'm very shy until warm people, and ... I've never played in high school or something. But ... I'm really willing to try. C: I knew it would help my self-confidence, and break me out of my shell if done well. I just ... very afraid of what my parents think. I mean ... if I'm doing primary education, then I do not think they will worry less. I just ... I'm afraid they'll think I'm stupid. What can theater classes, specifically the path of action, me career-wise? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus It was funny, because today, when we turned up at my class of almost everyone said ".'m Majoring in psychology with a double certification or Elementary Special Education" He wanted to be the one who was like, "I'm majoring in Theatre with a dual certification in Elementary Education! 8D " MedlinePlus Perhaps my favorite actresses are eating away at my heart, and my class has inspired me, or the child in me is rising, but either way ... I've been thinking a lot about it. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus What are your thoughts, opinions, advice? I could really use it. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Thank reading this! [View Answers]

Have you ever struggled academically?0xxxTaraKhanxxx2012-10-24 19:58:25
and then it happened at the end ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I ask because I am having academic problems in college . I had to repeat three classes and I'm trying to get into a highly competitive field . I have A and B in all this is necessary and I have little experience of observation and three letters of recommendation . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Classes were Algebra ( because I find it very in math , failed the first time and then an A the second time , Psychology , because I had a horrible teacher , I have a C - for the first time and then an A the second time , and now I have to do Intro To Health Care, lost my house when I was having a beginning and I lost my motivation for school and got a C - , I have the intention to get an A this time . ) MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So once I'm wrong , but Ace next time. The dean of the USDA Agricultural Research Program said it showed he was willing to put effort and make my mistakes . So he gave me a little hope . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I'm doing my best and hopefully I can get in, but I feel like I might be struggling more than others. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So , what are your experiences of the university ? Did you fight and do it in the end? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus thanks[View Answers]

IU Bloomington or Ball State University?0yoyoma2012-10-24 17:11:15
I'm a senior in high school , and is about deciding where I want to go to college . I live in Indiana , so I'm choosing between two public schools --- Indiana University - Bloomington , or Ball State University. I've been to both schools and like them almost equally. Both have pros and cons . Bloomington is more attractive , but Ball State is 1-1.5 hours closer to me from Bloomington . The path to the Ball State is also easier . From now on , Bloomington will be cheaper for me , for about $ 1000 per year . However, I have not received additional grants from Ball State , and may come yet .... Although money is not a major problem , because with federal aid , I saved enough to go to anyone with little or no debt . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I plan to major in Criminal Justice , with a possible double major in Psychology and Sociology . Both schools offer these specialties . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus My question for you : Do you have an opinion or preference of one or the other, and why ? And the school known to have a better program for seniors in the list ?[View Answers]

I didn't learn anything in school. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?0Kathy HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2012-10-24 13:01:48
I'm an intelligent person and even proven talent as a child. But since I've been going to school Pre-K on up through three years of college, I have not learned much of anything. I would go to school, sit there unable to pay attention in class because I was so bored, take a bunch of notes to memorize without really listening to what the teachers were saying, and then go home and memorize all of my notes examinations and do assignments useless. I would like to take the exams, get the best grades and then I remember nothing. I felt like since the curriculum was so focused on the evidence and my parents put so much emphasis on perfect grades, I could not really learn. When I got home from school, I had to spend so much time memorizing the Athletics did not have time to read more. I thought college would be different, but I realized that the same thing was happening. My parents tell me that I've learned, but just do not realize it, but honestly that's not true. My friend thought I was exaggerating when I said I did not learn anything, so I asked him to contest and make me basic questions that every high school graduate should know. He was shocked when he realized it was really serious. I feel like I have 20 years with the knowledge base of a 10 year old boy. Finally, I decided to approach college differently and focus on learning and not on tests. In class, I sat in the back and read. Learn to take interest in what I was reading instead of memorizing. I started to learn more (still thought that many of the jobs were redundant and pointless, though) but my grades dropped to C rather than outstanding. He could not keep the scholarship I had and was so tired of wasting my years, more and more behind in not learning, I left, so I could actually learn. Now I have a part time job. On my days off and in the afternoon, I have been educating in various academic subjects such as history, science, philosophy, psychology and literature. After 16 years of not learn in school, I'm finally learning and doing quite well. (And I have the intention to enroll in a school program certified tech to get a steady job and I know that it is important, of course) But just wondering, Is there anyone else like me? Anyone else felt impeded by the school because they learn differently to what the school system teaches? Any idea why some people are like that? Just curious. Thank you all for your comments :)[View Answers]
I'm a young college student..tell me, is this a "Good idea" or "Bad idea"?0blash blagh2012-10-24 11:41:45
I am a young college student .. tell me, is a "feel good " or " bad idea" ? MedlinePlus I have one more year left as a student . I have planned to go to graduate school in psychology to get my Masters . In this university , it could actually become a teacher while I look for my Ph.D by what can or can not do that . I can get money to go to school to save that and for the next four years , which should be ... " MUCH " . Go out and find a job in the city my parents used to work and become a teacher of one of the largest universities in our state ( in the city ) and also work at the hospital that is right in front of the university as a psychologist , while paid traveling home my parents will be renovating this year, without costs other than water , gas for work , no rent etc , I will continue to save my money until I have enough to buy my own house in money background cash instead of signing a 30-year mortgage . At the end of the PhD program should have an estimated $ 91,000 (if I spent all of the money saved and that while working ( the money would live outside ) . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus then add that , as much as I would like to receive annually as head teacher and psychologist . You could save up to have the money you would pay for a nice house and then some. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus What do you think ? This is not legit. I'm a huge saving this though and just thought ...[View Answers]

What is the easiest college degree to obtain?0Boyc2012-10-24 04:00:11
I'm just curious because many people in my area say that psychology is the easiest way to obtain degree . However, I have always been a high achiever and now I am in a psychology program . A job that a psychology degree you might have would be child welfare , adult services , etc. These jobs are stressful and not easy for people with weak emotions . These are areas that interest me . I also believe that psychology is to be useful and interesting , although I have to admit the course seems easy . I wonder what others think about this, as I think it depends on the person and the greater university .[View Answers]

Will I be less likely to get into an MSW program if I don't have a degree in social work?0im_a_h8r_n_luvin_it(only hate certain people)2012-10-24 01:46:35
I live in College Station, Texas , so I could go to Texas A & M University and major in psychology because it does not have a social work program . If I did, I would save on rent, food and bills because my parents do not make me pay for it . The problem is that I would go to graduate school out of state , and I worry that I would be at a disadvantage when applying as students may have other singles " in the current social work , and school improvement known . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus My other option is to go to the University of Texas and major in social work . As I am also very interested in psychology , I might have it as a minor or try to double major . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Furthermore, Texas students are automatically admitted if these two schools are in the upper class of 8% , therefore not a problem .[View Answers]
