Help studying Psychology?2Ja\'Terra2017-05-02 00:08:49
I left school at 16 after falling pregnant, I never sat any G.C.S.E's so have no qualifications. I am now 25 and my little girl is registered disabled with a very complex condition, this has raised my interest in working with children/adults/families in the same situation. I have just enrolled myself on a night time course for G.C.S.E Maths and English, unfortunately this is just a foundation course and the highest grade I can get is a C. I would love to eventually study Biology and Psychology, my ultimate dream job would be either a Child Psychologist, Educational Psychologist ( I know how strange this may sound coming from an early leaver!) or a Social Worker. The problem I am having is not knowing where to start. I am aware I will have to go to college and uni and I am so excited about this. I need advice on what courses to enrol on in both places and what qualifications I am going to need, also do you think if I am fortunate enough to gain a Grade C in maths and english is this good enough for college etc?[View Answers]
Psychological research areas ?1Mohammad2016-07-13 23:32:20
I have to write paper about the psychology and misconceptions about it.. and it says " Describe at least five research areas in psychology." as easy as it may sound, but am struggling to understand it :S... what does it means by "research areas"? should i write 5 specialties and what do they do, like, experimental psychologists , Industrial psychologists, psychometric psychologists, developmental psychologists, and educational psychologists (and ofc, describe them) or should i describe something like Group Behavior, Prejudice and Discrimination, Prosocial Behavior, Violence and Aggression and Social cognition ? am really confused, >< any help would be appreciated guys, thanks[View Answers]

19. The students in Ms. Chen's classroom include students of color, low-SES students, White middle-SES students, gifted and talented students, and students with disabilities. In thinking about how to deal with such a diverse group, Ms. Chen decides to present material using a variety of formats and in a variety of modalities, have students demonstrate what they've learned in a variety of ways, and use a variety of techniques to motivate students to learn. The goal for such an approach to instruction is to a. help all students learn as much as possible. b. identify which students qualify for some type of special class placement. c. motivate all students to work hard by increasing the difficulty of lessons. d. create within-class ability groups as a way to maximize the learning of all students. I think it's either A or D. In a literal sense, A make sense but D could be the plan?[View Answers]

I graduated with my bachelor's in psychology in 2003 and I'm ready to get back to school for my master's. Since I have graduated I have mainly worked in restaurants serving and bartendeng so I haven't gotten any other experience. I think I would like school counseling but I don't know THAT much about it. What should I expect from this field? Would it be difficult to get a job? Any information about school/educational counseling would be great! I live in Georgia if that helps at all..thanks![View Answers]
