My Future Career. Help, Please!?1lizbeth2016-07-13 23:22:43
Hello Everyone. My name is Giselle. I am really thinking about what I want to do with my life. I just graduated last year with an Associates Degree by doing PSEO. So I already have a two year degree and just graduated! I am really thinking about what I want to do and I really need help, please! Well, first of all I am really into Acting. If I could, I would be an Actress with a blink of an eye and would be set. And I already know that Im going to be trying acting on the side and trying reallly hard to get a good reputation for Actressing. So hopefully that works out and maybe it will. BUT, if that doesnt work out, I think that I would want to bet my Bachelors Degree in Business, and my Masters is Psychology. Is that possible? Also, If acting again doesn't work, I really would like to either open up my own Pet Store which most likely will fail, or open up a Chain of Taco Bells. That will be expensive though so I deffinately need a side career to get enough money for a Taco Bell. read[View Answers]
What career is right for me?1Hailea2016-07-13 23:17:48
I am almost 16yrs old, female. I will be a junior in high school this yr. I need to settle down &look into some careers b/c my highschool offers great career programs. I could never do anything in healthcare, b/c I cannot stand math or sciences. I'm not a logical thinker. I consider myself creative &a little bit stupid. Entrepreneuring would be awesome , but I have no reason to start a business. Psychology would be great but the only way to make money in psych is if I lie &just write books like they all do. I may just consider it. I am also looking into politics. All I care about is money really. -I'd like to dress up in nice suits for my career -travel alot -have connections with the world -i want to speak to ppl in different languages -I want to be important and have authority Suggestions would be amazing thankyou so much. &also when/what age did you discover your passion??[View Answers]

How do you start a career when you have an advanced degree?0keleb2012-11-05 22:28:01
I'm frustrated. I graduated in 2006 with an MS in Forensic Psychology, its a criminal justice degree but is by no means limited to just that. I'm having a hard time finding a job let alone trying to start a career. I've used careerbuilder, monster, both career placement services from my undergraduate and graduate years, classified ads, word of mouth, and some networking to try to jumpstart something but so far nothing has worked. What the trick for finding a job? I've had my resume critiqued many times. I don't really have an employment history because I've been in school. And to add to everything I live in the Ohio Valley which has a particularly depressed economy. I can't just up and move without having a job first. Any suggestions?[View Answers]
Job opportunities with these degrees...?0siskiyou student2012-11-05 20:14:51
I am currently getting my bachelors degree in childhood education (birth through 6 grade) with a concentration in Spanish. I then would want to get my masters in child development or child psychology (still undecided). I would love to teach but this is a very specific degree. What job opportunities (besides teaching of course) are out there? (being that i receive both degrees in the next 4 years) Just something to fall back on if anything goes wrong.[View Answers]

Entry Level Jobs with B.A. in Criminology?0kaylah2012-11-05 19:26:58
I'm finally graduating this spring with my B.A. in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. I'm not really interested in going into grad school now, simply because I've been busting my *** for 8 years straight (including high school). But I was curious to get ideas on what are some entry-level jobs that I could get with my Crim. degree? I've been working in ILL at my university's library for 3 1/2 yrs, and been working retail for 2 1/2 years.... With criminological, psychological, library resource skills, and retail experience, what type of area of work should be interesting?[View Answers]
What would be a good temporary job with a B.A. in Psychology?0billy bob2012-11-05 19:23:30
My plan is to go to law school, but I recently decided to graduate early for my B.A., but I'm a little too late to start the law school application process. So I'm hoping to take a year, work, and pay off all my current debt. Anyone know any good jobs with just a B.A.? Doesn't have to be related to psychology, I know there are very few psychology jobs that don't require at minimum a masters. I've taken some business related courses (microeconomics, management, business law).[View Answers]
I have to change my college major, advice?0leleirvin2012-11-05 19:01:08
I currently have a major in psychology, however, research has been telling me that psychology has an extremely high unemployment rate, which pretty much ruins the point for me to be in psychology. Why pay the money for college to not have a job, right? So, I'm pretty much dedicated to change my major but I honestly don't know what to change it to. I'm thinking about majoring in something with French, but I don't know forsure if French is something I want to do forever, I change my mind way too much. Any advice?[View Answers]
Multiple degree pay in California?0annoymous2012-11-05 18:30:58
I really want to move to California for college and blah blah. So I plan to get a PhD in psychology and a MD in neurosurgery. About how much do you think I would get paid if I worked for a hospital as a surgeon and another/or same hospital as a psychologist? Any thoughts or comments welcomed.[View Answers]
Changing careers from Interior Design to Psychology?0Yenny2012-11-05 18:26:10
I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design. I am no longer interested in pursuing a career in design have been considering a career in psychology. I want to go to graduate school and get my masters in holistic psychology or positive psychology. I know an Interior Design degree is completely unrelated to these subjects. Am I eligible to get into these graduate programs? Or do you need to have an undergraduate degree in psychology?[View Answers]

How can I get a job as a career counselor?0Doris2012-11-05 15:44:19
I would like to be counselor at a college, high school, or for professionals. I have a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Human Resources plus 3 years interviewing and selection experience. Is there any website specifically for career counselors? I am very familiar with all your general job boards (monster, indeed, Career builder), but you comb through thousands of posts for one real career counselor post.[View Answers]
I really need some career advice.?0ryntex2012-11-05 15:11:52
Im stuck on what i want to do with my life and have been for a while. I just recently graduated high school and i am part time student at my local comunity college, im taking like my basic college classes really because i want to get them over with so when i decide on what i want to do i can focus on my major and not the basic classes. But anyway, im interested in a lot of different things and i can never make up my mind fully a 100%. Im interested in: Travel, helping others ( like in a psychology way), careers that either keep me active or i have to be active for ( i got a heart problem and i have to be healthy), a career that i can learn from, im interested also in other cultures and like im not a huge art person but like sometimes artifacts from many centuries ago interest me, in school i would love doing reseach for papers or projects, so i love doing research, and typing out papers. Having a career that i love doing and waking up everyday and be more than happy to go to work is a LOT more important to me then the money, as long as it pays the bills each month then im fine. Please and Thank you for any anwsers, id really appreciate no bullshit anwsers or comments. :) Thanks.[View Answers]
I was a confused child &I still am. What should I do (career-wise)?0Whisky Ï„? 2012-11-05 14:50:16
I'm 19 &in college. I am totally messed up as a person. I haven't gotten anything right or straightened out. I'd like to get one thing right. I don't know if I'm in the right field/major right now. I'd like to at least get that right...or close to it. -I'm interested in psychology &the way people behave &think but I'm definitely not qualified in helping people with their problems (I'm mentally ill myself &slightly suicidal) -I'm also interested in the human body its biology. Like why the body does this when you do that, etc. Oh yeah, and nutrition &the body. Muscles! -I'd like a job/career that is in demand &can be utilized to help people in need of dire help. I am going to try to get into a nursing program now but I'm afraid I don't have the right qualities &personality for it. You need a headstrong personality. You need to be able to make split-second decisions. You need confidence. I don't have any of those. I ask too many "what if's." I go through every option. I'm hesitant on making decisions. I don't speak my mind freely. I'm not too good with socializing. What jobs/careers do you think I will have some luck with?[View Answers]
Mental Health Job?0Aashi2012-11-05 13:48:48
I am majoring in human services at a community college right now and I am guessing that when transfering to a four-year school that I would major in social work. I don't know if I want to go into therapy, though. I don't know if I would be good at giving advice, but I am empathetic, have been through mental illness myself and I just want to make a difference. I've thought about addictions counseling but I'm not spiritual so I don't think the whole 12-step thing would be good. Or maybe being a mental health tech in a hospital. I want to help others, do something fufilling, yet still make a decent earning. Last I heard, a mental health tech only makes $9-$11/hr. Is there something besides being a psychiatrist or dietitian (I am interested in working w/ eating disorders, depression, self-harm issues) that would pay the bills but also satisfy my interests? Should I major in psychology or human services/social work? What careers are in these degree areas? Help!! Thanks.[View Answers]

Careers in the health field?0anan2012-11-05 12:21:55
I am getting ready to apply for the Nursing Program this fall, I love the idea of trying to get into a career where I can help people. However being a single mother I am not sure if will be able to stop working to go thru the program full time, since my bills will not stop and it makes me feel a bit uneasy. I am saving money and have loans I can take out. . but not sure if I want to depend on loans, who wants to 60+ thousand in debt by the time you graduate. I know in the end it will be very rewarding personally and financially and I am not ruling out applying to get into the program. I am just looking for other ideas on other careers in the health care field or even psychology/sociology classes are very interesting to me that wouldn't require me to stop working for years at a time. I am very interested in law enforcement not a police officer but the forensic aspect but from what I hear its glamorized on TV and the jobs aren't the abundant. Any who not I am rambling lol I can juggle school and work pretty well but if it came down to it, I only see myself being able to completely stop working for about 2 years so any advice would be appreciated.
