All Nurses please answer...?1Frostie2016-07-13 23:22:45
I am just embarking on an ambitious career. I eventually want to become a CRNA. However, right now I am just getting my BSN. What I would like to know is if someone could compile a list for me of every single pre req I need including general education courses. I have googled at looked online for something similiar but I can only find one for a particular university. For my university they want the following... • Human Anatomy • Biology • Chemistry (two courses) • English • Psychology • Sociology • Other course work (10 quarter hours) Students complete the following course work requirements, which provide a broad educational base: • 10 credit hours of writing and related skills • 9-10 credit hours of quantitative and logical skills • 20 credit hours of natural sciences • 10 credit hours of social sciences • 10 credit hours of history • 10 credit hours of arts and humanities • 16 credit hours of breadth and supportive courses • 4-5 credit hours of electives I just want a list I can go down and check off as I get them done.[View Answers]
Does anyone understand this?0 복수 고유명사 2012-11-06 02:14:36
Then there was the psychology professor, a Yankee's Yankee and a feminist's feminist, who tells the following story about herself to illustrate that doctorates don't necessarily make you smart. She was driving to a workshop in Atlanta from her home in Ohio. It was about 10 am, and she'd been driving the entire preceding day and night herself, and she was consequently not in the best of tempers as she searched for a motel in which to crash. A Georgia state policeman pulled her over, got out of his cruiser, swaggered up to her driver's window, bent down, and drawled, "Lookie here, darlin',"--uh oh, everybody duck--"Lookie here, darlin', nobody blows through Georgia that fast." Said the feminist Yankee overtired psychology professor: "Sherman did." She says he was not satisfied merely to give her a speeding ticket; he made her follow him fifty miles out of her way to Nowheresburg, GA, and wait at the police station until three in the afternoon for a circuit judge to arrive so that he could explain to her why it wasn't the best idea in the world to be impolite to policemen, who were after all interested only in creating the safest possible environment for everybody including her, etc. etc. The lecture went on for about two hours, she says, after which she was released to drive the fifty miles back to her route and resume her search for someplace to crash.[View Answers]
Are on-line college courses just a joke?0Dav2012-11-06 00:53:03
I'm currently employed full time in a job that I love. However, I am interested in looking at more options and maybe going back to school. I don't have the option of an actual university so I'm looking at community colleges in the area and online courses as well. I have two problems, are the online courses credible or just a joke, and two, I am having difficulty finding something I want to do. I'm HORRIBLE with math and numbers, so anything that has a core in that I know I'll be horrible at. I was interested in Psychology but realized that unless I get my masters it's pretty useless. Should I take my Bachelor's degree in Psychology online or on-campus (University of Phoenix; Florida)?0Jezebel2012-11-05 16:10:12
I go to the University of Phoenix and I took my two years (for my Associate's degree) online. Which I was fine with since it was more generalized classes. However, I'm going for my Bachelor's now and the program is completely psychology courses, obviously. But I'm undecided on whether I should continue online or go to campus. Problem is the closest campus (that is providing the program at the moment) is 3 buses away from me. Quite a long journey there. I'm visiting tomorrow to see how long it takes me to actually get there and to finalize my decision. But I'm still unsure if it's worth the sacrifice. I don't like the idea of working in "teams". That makes me uncomfortable. I'm more of an independent learner, so in honesty that's my biggest concern apart from the distance. So what do you all think? Is it worth it or should I just stick online? I like the idea of on-campus because I gain a little extra knowledge from the feedback from others, but still. Thanks![View Answers]
Psychology, is this the job for me?0Jestercrate2012-11-05 13:39:24
I had some terrible things happen to me when I was growing up. Not many people know what happened to me, and I am hoping it stays that way. But see, because of these terrible things that have happened to me, I want to help others and be the person who they can just vent and just release all their problems upon. I never had that so I want others to have the opportunity I never got to have. I am also very fascinated by peoples brains. I want to know how they work, what chemical triggers what emotions and thoughts, and how you could stop the amount of the chemicals entering into the brain. I don't know, see I am going into my 11th grade in high school. And I am wanting to take an introduction online course for psychology, but I don't want to do it if I am not good at the job. My friends claim that I do them well, and I have random people come up to me and ask me if they could just talk to me about a problem they happen to be facing. If anyone out here onYahoo!Answers who have taken psychology courses in high school and or university or college could you please tell me if I seem to be good in this professions? Thank-you![View Answers]
Am I on the right track to get into the University of Florida?0Winston2012-11-05 13:13:04
I'm kind of having one of those freak out moments. I'm currently a junior in high school with a 3.55 unweighted GPA and a 3.86 weighted GPA. Ranked 58 in my class of 380, 85th percentile. I have 13 community service hours to date, but I'm working on getting more. I'm in Quill and Scroll, which is the honor society for journalists I'm also in Link Crew, which is a club for upper classmen to help the freshmen get around during their first semester. I have not yet taken the SATs or ACTs yet, but I have taken the PSAT in both my 10th and 11th grade years. (January and February) I want to major in English literature and minor in Classics studies and maybe U.S. history. My classes: 8th grade: Algebra 1 (I know this doesn't count) 9th grade: Geometry Biology Honors English 1 Honors World Geography French 1 Drama 1 Personal Fitness/Health Tech Systems and Applications (It was a computer/life management class we were required to take) 10th grade: Algebra 2 English 2 Honors AP World History Chemistry 1 Honors French 2 Journalism Journalism (took it both semesters) Photography Online classes for 10th grade: A PE class Computing for College and Careers (Microsoft Office and whatnot) And I started Latin 1 and finished the first quarter. I'm currently finishing up the second. 11th grade: (This is the classes I'm taking and am going to take, considering the year isn't over) AP English Language and Composition AP U.S. History Physics 1 Honors French 3 Journalism for both semesters again Hopefully I'm getting Psychology, Sociology, and Web Design 1 next semester. They screwed up my schedule so I don't know yet. I'm finishing up Latin 1 And I'm taking Pre-Calculus online next semester (part of them screwing up my schedule) Projected schedule for 12th grade: Journalism for two semesters again French 4 AP Psychology I may or may not take Latin 2 online. And I'm debating over my core classes right now. I'm either going to take: AP English Literature Calculus AP Government and Economics or Taking dual enrollment courses over at the community college. Or doing a mix of both. I don't know yet. I'm really sorry about how long this is...[View Answers]
Studying psychology?? easy question?0duke2012-11-05 09:16:34
I'm thinking about going to university and studying psychology but upon reading the course details online it said students should have a background in maths. I'm lousey at math and wondering how much math exactly is involved in psychology? And if so, what type of math (it didn't specify which type) For anyone who is/has studied psychology do you think it would be a mistake to study with sucky maths skills? Thanks![View Answers]
I want to be a web designer!!?0Joe Joe2012-11-05 06:26:25
I`m doing some research about being a web designer.. I know the pay isn`t very high, but it is something I am interested in. Could you tell me what post secondary education is needed and what courses I should take in high school to help me prepare? Also.. What is the highest level of achievement in web designing? Like.. I know for jobs like psychologists, the highest level is already reached by getting a doctorate degree.. but you`re able to specialize in different types of psychology.[View Answers]
Major in Psychology and Air Force ?0anAYA2012-11-05 04:22:11
I want to major in Psychology and then join the Air Force. Should I go to college for four years and then try go get commissioned through rotc? And after the air force get my masters and doctorate or should I do my four years get my masters, then join air force. Or I could just do everything and join the air force with a doctorate. But if I did that I would be in school until I'm like 29 and I want to have kids before I'm 30...and I don't want to be cutting it close to age limit. I just don't know what to do...[View Answers]

I'm taking a university Psychology class, and my professor is having us do these. He keeps saying "Draw these on canvas, I mean, paper." As if he wants to evaluate us on our selection... canvas or paper. Canvas or paper. Bleh! I don't know. All the articles I find online are ridiculously expensive. I'm not going to spend $31 on an article just for this. So do any of you guys know if paper choice matters? Thanks!![View Answers]
I don' t know what should i get a degree in?0SAPPHIRE2012-11-04 21:26:46
I don't like math and science.I did pretty well in my math classes and got Bs and Cs but i hate word problems , graphs and calculus. Biology was easy for me and i got A s in that class. I hated physics and chem because it was so boring. I am more of an artistic person. I love literature, social sciences, fine arts, psychology, business etc .I love interacting with people and helping them. My parents are so ambitious and they want me to have a job that pays decently. What kind of careers should i pursue that involves my favorite subjects ? I don't have enough caliber to go to top institutions and get doctorates. This society is putting so much emphasis on math and sciences while artists get little oppurtunities and low paying jobs[View Answers]
College USA/UK, Financial Aid, what to study?0Ophilia2012-11-04 15:01:36
Hi guys, i'd like to study something, I got the equivalent of GSCEs in UK and highschool diploma in USA with an average of 2.7 in german grades system. Now first of all I am not sure what to study, I kinda take a interest in everything arts related but I know that field doesn't really offer any jobs.. Psychology was interesting me but I don;t know what to await when studying it and if I can keep up with it,though that at least has career opportunities in UK and USA. I am in general good with children and people in general, a problem solver, wondering why people do things and yeah more on the social site. Not really good at maths or science in general so something with as few as possible of that would be good. Now I live on my own and don't really have much money, and due to my age (19) I wouldn't really get a loan approval as my parents dont support me at all, we don't have any contact and yeah... What are my ebst chances? Uni in USA I am not sure how much financial aid is possible...Open universities in UK, I don't really understand their concept that well, anyone knows? Or online studying, I read about that but how do you do assesments then? I mean you just do them on pc? What would be reputable unis there? Also money-wise as I can't afford much. Thank you guys and if you have ideas what might suit me for studying, get them on to me=))[View Answers]
Can I really work as an intelligence agent under my deviant social behaviour below or am I just mad?0newyorker2012-11-04 14:59:00
I am a 20 old Kenyan male a University freshman. I do not dance, no sports, in other words I do not have social skills. Ask me about stuff and I know more than my age. I am usually told I know things not for my age. I am actually a Harriet also the spy. I like trying to figure out other peoples' stuff. I have also hacked or made use of online hackers for without paying. I just like intelligence. While my friend read magazines I read psychology books. I would have joined the forces but I am shortsighted. I have a passion for intel. I do commerce. Someone tell me if I am just cheating myself or what.[View Answers]
How does a McDonald's franchise owner spend their day?0Juston2012-11-04 14:09:48
As a crew member I take great pride working for a company that has been around since 1955, in fact I enjoy working for McDonald's so well I have a notion to go back to school after I get settled with the career I have already been working so hard for. I have a few years left before I'm done with college, I'm going for my doctorate in psychology. I have my associates. After I'm practicing for a few years I have an interest in buying a franchise, but what I'm curious to know, as an owner operator what do they do all day? I see ours come in the store maybe once every week if that. Do they pay their managers from their profits of the stores to run everything. I'm hoping it's more hands on than just dropping by one of your stores, and going home for the rest of the day.[View Answers]

Question about medical school for psychiatry?0quarter2012-11-04 08:15:32
I currently go to school online and work full-time with a bank. I changed my major earlier this year from finance to psychology. What I really want to do is be a psychiatrist. I have a 3.45 GPA and I will be finishing my associates in November so I will have enough time to bring that up to at least a 3.6. I plan on attending a 4 yr university (probably local for financial reasons) and then probably do a minor or second major in biology. I have a lot of volunteer experience with the march of dimes, the hospital, and a daycare center. I also have experience working in a hospital while I was in Nursing School a couple of years ago (I decided that wasn't for me). What are my chances that if I do well in the last two years of school (of course), that I will be able to get into a decent medical school? Consider that I am a current psych major and want to have at least a minor in biology.[View Answers]
