My chances to a good pre-med college?0Jessica Jenkins2012-11-06 05:33:02
Well, I'm going into my senior year now, so I thought I'd ask this. I have an SAT score of 2010, a weighted GPA of about 3.0. This year I took AP Biology and AP psychology, and next year I'm taking AP Calculus AB. Since 7th grade I've completed 80 hours of community service, with another 20 in my senior year, making 100 hours. I go to a college prep school that's well known in the area with colleges. The only thing I'm worried about is the GPA, since it isn't the best. But my main question is, what are some good colleges with medical programs in the area a little bit north of UCSD (San Diego), and what are my chances to get into them? I would try UCSD, but apparently 2010 is just an average SAT score there, my GPA isn't, and it's a bit far from where I want to be. I can't afford a college much more than $25,000 a year, since even with financial aid I don't have all that much money, but I still want to go to the best I can. Any suggestions?[View Answers]

What should I do for a career?0irsha2012-11-06 05:22:41
I'm 32 and I have a bachelors in History and another one in Religion with a minor in psychology. I work in a call center which I hate. My GPA from college is 2.5 becausse i did bad my first two years with 'd' averages and then 3.3 the last few years. I don't know if I can get accepted into a grad school program. Also, I can't take anymore undergrad classes because I reached my limit on what I can borrow as an undergrad student. What should I do? I work a full and part time job now but neither of these are 'careers or could lead to one at the current company I'm at'. Boston University Online Master's Degree Info Needed.?0Looking for someone to check my answer2012-11-06 04:12:55
I have a Bachelor's Degree from Excelsior College, which is a non-competitive college in up-state New York. My Degree is in Liberal Science, and most of my courses are in Criminal Justice and Psychology. My GPA is a 3.29, and I have also been in the Coast Guard for 7 years. How difficult would it be for me to get into the online Master's Degree program for Criminal Justice at Boston University? I know BU is a top school, and I am concerned about the school I received my Bachelor's Degree at not being up to par. I think my Coast Guard experience will help, but I am unsure. Any insight would be great. Thank you.[View Answers]
Who knows about the SMART grant?0Bhuwan gupta2012-11-06 04:02:41
I just changed my major to biology, this fall will begin my 4th year of college. in the spring, I'm enrolling in an allied health program for medical technology, which is a bachelor of science degree. my gpa is 3.44. I have already been awarded a pell grant for the 08 09 school year for $2800 dollars (about) I guess what i'm asking is, should I be eligible for the smart grant even though I *just* changed my major? It was psychology before. Also, should I talk to my financial aid officer at school and tell them that i changed majors and am now eligible? or should they figure it out on their own?[View Answers]

I have a passion to study psychology and I am really determined to study in this field. Like, there is nothing else I wanted to study, not even something related like sociology or social work. Please help me.I have graduated this year in May and I want to start my uni this Sept. I am soo lost and really don't know what to do now.[View Answers]

What course should I take? Anatomy or Greek History? or both?0orangutan2012-11-06 03:22:10
Hello. I am taking two university courses toward my agree this term - Greek History and Basic Human Anatomy. I did have 5 classes (Children's Literature, Psychology, Later Roman Empire, Basic Human Anatomy, and Greek History), but now I just have two because I messed up registering by the deadling (I thought it was at midnight on the computer but it was actually at 8 pm). Well now that I'm on my way with these two courses I'm not sure if I can even handle both--Anatomy is so much work memorizing but I prefer studying it over Greek History. I don't really want to take both but I probably should. I'd rather score high in one course this term and take on more to make up for it next term. I think I can score my highest in Anatomy but I should take Greek History because it is required for my program in Classics, but I could take it later. :S This is my 6th year of university. Any suggestions?[View Answers]

How do I become a midwife in Virginia?0AllyKat2012-11-06 03:16:58
I live in Northern Virginia and have a BA in Psychology and would like to find out more about becoming a midwife. I assume being a CPM would be the best path for me because I believe that you have to have a BSN to be a CNM, but please correct me if I am wrong. The NARM website says one of the requirements is to be a graduate of an MEAC accredited program, but it seems the closest one is in Vermont which doesn't really help my cause. If anyone could give me any information as to where to start, resources, time or cost estimates, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you[View Answers]
Can and should I self study more AP Exams?0Candece2012-11-06 03:11:42
This year I took four exams, including AP Psychology, which my school does not offer, so I self studied and got a 5. Next year I already have 6 or 7 AP exams (not sure which physics I will take) and I'm wondering if I should study something else. There were some other AP classes I wanted to take (Statistics and Environmental Science) but couldn't fit into my schedule because I'm in my school's band program. Can I take these anyway, even though my school already offers them? And should I?[View Answers]

What fun city in CA is good for a psych/art major, musician, and writer to live in affordably that has culture0Motsatsi2012-11-06 02:18:44
My friend and I are artists, musicians, and writers. Yes, we are all three. We are soulful creative free spirits looking for a niche in California, but we aren't loaded with money. By the time we move, my buddy will have a BA in Communications and I will have an Associates in Psychology &Art. We like coffeehouses, rock shows, art and music of course, film, broadway, yoga, pilates, martial arts, camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, friendly open minded people, holistic wellbeing, poetry, metaphysics, philosophy, intellectuals, culture, and hippie gatherings. We feel claustrophobic in small towns. Any ideas? We need a place with character, culture, and integrity. I also would like to find a nice school to study art that also has good psychology, philosophy, science, sociology, literature, writing, English, and music programs.[View Answers]
