Are you supposed to take regular psychology before AP psychology?1sal2016-07-13 23:33:18
I am considering taking AP psychology online because my school doesn't offer any type of psychology class, and it is something I'm very interested in. Should I take it online, and are you supposed to take a regular psych class first?[View Answers]

I'm interested in all things history, anthropology, psychology, art history, art and maybe even political science. I really want to travel A LOT and I don't want just any old job I want to do something that will keep me entertained, I'm also interested in film, music, and I love to read. But I just can't pick what i want to do, can someone please help me??? Also, what jobs can a person who majors in Anthropology get??? [View Answers]
What can you do with a bachelors degree in psychology?1Katrice2016-07-13 23:31:53
okay, so im in college now, and in british columbia, you have to have a PhD in psychology to actually get a career in it. I have enough money to get me through four years of college, i.e. enough to earn my bachelors degree, but i need money to pay for four extra years, so i was wondering if there was any jobs out there that i could get with a bachelors so that i could pay the rest of my way through school.[View Answers]

Does anyone know any graduate programs in either philosophy or psychology that includes BOTH philosophy AND psychology? Or careers that incorporate BOTH disciplines? I'm an undergraduate student but looking for something that can integrate both disciplines.... I want to go to graduate school for something that incorporates BOTH. Does anyone know what I should look into?[View Answers]
Psychology vs Bachelor of Science Human Science Major?1Miaka2016-07-13 23:30:40
So I'm trying to get into med school and I want to really push myself to get a 4.0, the great thing about this school and other ones in the province is that there are no prerequisites! Therefore prerequisites is not so much going to be my deciding factor, although if I am applying to other schools, a BSC will come in handy as it will cover most of the prerequisite courses. Anyway, I am interested in both of these majors, and I heard psychology is pretty easy, however my school only offers correspondence (online classes only). This isn't really a problem as I do get distracted quite easily being in class anyway, but a majority of people who praised psychology to be easy did have a teacher which played a HUGE factor in their statement. So now I'm thinking, psychology might not be as easy since I'm doing it correspondence. On the other hand, I am very interested in what Human Science has to offer. However, I have pretty bad ADD in my head and I cannot focus for rats ***, unless I take Adderall. This course contains a lot of biology which would benefit me greatly for med school even if they don't require pre-med. Still, it would mean a lot to me to understand the material beforehand. I like learning about the human body, but when it goes in depth, I become lost immediately then it becomes boring. Therefore, I just know it will be hard for me. So I'm not sure which major to take??? Someone please give me some insight on this![View Answers]
Which SUNY Schools could I get accepted to?1voulez_vous_coucher_avec_moi 2016-07-13 23:30:31
I just finished my first year at a community college with a gpa of 3.3. I plan on transferring after I get my associate's degree. I have one more semester's worth of grades (because I have to apply before March for the fall) and I believe my GPA will be around the same. My major is Psychology. I plan on applying to Stony Brook, Binghamton, New Paltz, Buffalo State, and Oneonta. My gpa is somewhat low because I took 2 college credited courses in High school and got C's but they are still averaged into my grade. Thank you![View Answers]
Program Choice: Medical/Graduate School options?1Azaria2016-07-13 23:30:17
Hi all, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I'm going into second year at uni and have a decsion to make a decision about what I want to specialize/major/minor in. My primary aim is medical school. However, I'd like a back-up should that not work out. I've decided on clinical psychology/neuropsychology -- which implies graduate school. The conundrum: do graduate schools prefer you to specialize, or would a double-major suffice?? Currently, I have been set on doing a double major: Neuroscience/Mental Health Studies. Primarily because a Neuroscience specialist (my original program) requires more chemistry than I'd be able to handle - keeping GPA in mind. + I have developed a strong interest in mental health studies , and am now torn between the two. Q: However, having thought about graduate school, would they not prefer a specialization in a program?????? Q: Also, regarding both medical + graduate school, would co-op be a benefit to me should I pursue a specialist ^??[View Answers]

Graduate Program in Men's Studies?1dstny2016-07-13 23:22:36
I'm about to graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology. I have been searching for a graduate program in men's studies. I looked at the commonly referred to school in Hawaii, but they require multiple years in a professional field before admission, and in the field of psychology, I have to get a masters' and a few more years of training in order to get into the professional field of which they speak. Does anyone know of other schools with graduate programs in Men's Studies? Please note: I did look through previously answered questions before posting this, and did not find what I was looking for.[View Answers]
What Degree Is This Most likley To Get Me?1AQW2016-07-13 23:22:32
Just had a random thought, if hypothetically (not saying I have done this or will) I took in college: 1 Year English Major 1 Year Psychology Major 1 Year Law Major (Law school) 1 Semester American Sign Language With all those courses together, what type of degree would a person have? I know classes vary, so tell me an estimate if one were to follow the usual requires courses. Would they even have any degree at all? Are those majors too different from each other?[View Answers]

What's was your gpa, or what is your gpa?...What's a good gpa, in what range?0Mady2012-11-06 06:56:54
what was your gpa in high school? college? graduate school? what do you think is a good gpa? ~ in high school i was like a 3.75+ i graduated with honors. college- since i switched my major from hard biology to sociology and psychology it is a 3.2 something, probably a 3.3 by the time i graduate. graduate school i am hoping a 3.2 or higher. i think a good gpa is a 3.0 or higher. since its on a 4.0 scale. its rare to get 3.5-3.9 gpa's in college or yet alone graduate school because of the horrible teachers and curriculm. high school was so much easier. :O) what do you think?[View Answers]

Which degree should I choose to get into teaching?0Tessa2012-11-06 06:19:22
I'm currently an A-level student studying Psychology, Sociology, and Biology at college, and I'm really keen on pursuing a career as a primary school teacher. I'm also in the process of filling in my UCAS application form. I have a number of university prospectuses, but I don't know where to begin. I'm looking at a lot of the education degrees, (all BAs), but also psychology degrees as that is another area I'm extremely interested in, but ultimately I want to apply it to teaching. I'm concerned about funding for any postgraduate course, so I want put myself in the best position to apply for PGCE funding. I'm very anxious about which universities to apply to, and which offer the courses that would benefit me most. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. {NB. This question was asked on behalf of my sister}[View Answers]
Do you think it's worth it? ?0Holly2012-11-06 05:57:21
Okay, here's my story: I am 26 years old. I gratuated two years ago with a BS in psychology. I never really wanted to do anything with psych, I just wanted a degree, so thats what I went with, since it does interest me. I ended up working for the railroad, which pays well, but just isnt what I dreamed of doing with my life. So, I decided to go back to college. I decided to go into pharmacy. My best friend just graduated from pharmacy school and now gets 120,000/year. Now, money isnt everything, I know this..but it sure does help. So, I have to go to a private college that costs 26,000/year. I have 6 more years of school left, but will end up with a BS in chemistry (while getting prepharm stuff done) and a PharmD. Having been to school once, I have exhausted all stafford loans, so Ive had to go to private loans. The interest rate is insane, and even though I plan on paying on them throughout school, its still a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money. And its a long time...Im already 26, so Ill be 33 by the time I get done. Do you think its worth it? Im not happy in my current job, but I dont know what else to do. Any advice?[View Answers]

Senior Year Schedule:?0nautia2012-11-06 05:30:47
Planned Senior Year Schedule: AP Lit Physics AP Psychology AP Statistics Pre-Calc AP Microeconomics AP Macroeconomics Engineering Tech II PE (I need one more to graduate) Some of these will be taken online, but how do you think it will work out? I am only taking one AP class this year, and it is my first AP class ever taken, so I think I need more. I think I want to major in accounting.. so should I take out the AP Psychology to take Accounting I (there are 3 years of accounting, but I didn't know about it then)? I will be done with my Languages, because there is no French II, and there is no way I could start another language because it would only be Spanish I or German I, so I wouldn't go in depth. Also, if I take 2 classes online my senior year, do you think I would be able to also put in AP Comp. Sci online (not available in my school)? Would it be too much? I can't take it over the summer before senior year because I already have a course set up for then. Please add any input.[View Answers]
I have a lot of questions about college, but no one seems to be able to answer them?0Chuck2012-11-06 05:18:59
Like, seriously, when you look something up on google, you're only getting limited information. I'm interested to know the type of things you can do with biology and psychology degrees, and I've tried searching them a bunch of times, but nothing's really helping me. I've heard that one of the ways to find out about something is to ask someone who actually knows. Yeah, I know that sounds kind of redundant... But someone who actually knows, for example, like a professor at a college or something. I'm not really interested in being a counselor, or med school, or working in a lab or anything like that. I don't like business or things like that, either. I am really interested in certain aspects of psychology, but I don't know what I'd do with it...[View Answers]
What career path should I INVEST myself into?0Gerik2012-11-06 04:42:53
Career experts, aviators, psychiatric technicians, fitness trainers, Teachers/Coaches and anyone else with first hand knowledge in these respective areas, this is for you. I am 29. I have a 10 month old baby girl. I recently passed the GED test with my scores in the top 86%-99% rank, meaning in the top 1%-14% in each of the subjects given. I spent 10 years as a critically successful artist. However, due to the financial aspect(I refuse to go commercial and I have a family to feed), and the fact that I'm burned out, I would like to take full advantage of my recent layoff from my "day job", and find a new passion/career and excel in it, both for myself and my family. After an entire year of 'deliberation' with myself and my wife, I have formulated a plan to obtain a vocational certificate while I am unemployed, and then to get a better job than what I had before, so that I can realistically pursue my degree. However, I have had a great deal of stress stemming from my background, which is where you guys come in: - Ages 15-18, I had spent some time in two private psychiatric facilities on four different occasions for depression/suicidal thoughts. Two of those were for documented 'attempts'. I was just crying for help and going about it the wrong way. .Obviously, I dropped out of high school. I now have a GED. .I have a misdemeanor "hit and run (property damage)" on my record(2004). -4 years probation for this incident, 3 years for the hit and run, and 1 year for driving without insurance. -I spent a night in the holding cell (2004). -4 days in county jail as a result of a "failure to appear" stemming from that same case (2006). *Apparently, if this charge isn't already, I can have it exphunged. .The car that I had was repo'd due to the fact that it wasn't insured on the night of the accident. -that has account has been settled and taken care of, monetarily anyway. I ran myself into $3,000 in credit card debt with business that I started in 2006 and incorporated in 2007. One of the reasons why I am burned out. I know that this is a train wreck, but I need another shot. Question is who'll grant me that opporitunity? The choice in certificate will also effect what degree that I major in.Here are the vocational fields that I am considering: .Aviation certificate- civilian or military(Pursue an Aviation, Science, or Psychology degree after) .Psychiatric Technician certificate (Psychology) .Fitness/Athletic Trainer certificate (Kinsieology, Psych, definately a teaching credential) .Health Care certificate- Psych(as mentioned), EKG Tech, Dental Asst, etc. I also like LAW, and I think that I would be good at it. I've researched ALL of these to DEATH. I can repeat the cert guidline info backwards and forwards, I do have an interest in ALL of them with the execption of Health Care other than Psychology. But, which is the more promising field? Who will hire me? I'm going to exphunge my record, but how far will that stretch on my record? I'm going to clean up my credit, but I need a better job, and how far will that stretch on my credit report? What should I do?[View Answers]
